The first Nuneaton Carnival took place on Saturday October 18th 1930 and was then called "The Nuneaton Hospital Carnival" originally set up to help the then Manor
Hospital in Manor Court Road Nuneaton.
A group of people from the town joined forces with the Manor Hospital to raise money long before the National health Service was formed to enable the hospital to buy
